Use even your tiniest scraps in an adorable bookmark that's begging you to read just "one more chapter." Add simple embroidery to linen fabric using a basic backstitch. Then, add a strip of your favorite fabrics for a stylish touch. Make the bookmark for yourself, or make them as gifts for the book-lovers in your life!

We've shared some favorite tools below, so keep reading!

Our Favorite Supplies for Bookmarks

Here's a list of the materials and tools we use to make the Easter Egg Place Mats.

Fabrics: We used Essex Linen by Robert Kaufman Fabric and the Starry collection by Alexia Abegg for Ruby Star Society in this bookmark.

50 wt. Aurifil Thread: This 100%-cotton thread is low-lint and comes in a variety of colors. We suggest getting a neutral color (such as white or cream) that will blend with a variety of colors, so you don't need to switch thread between projects.

Wonder Clips: This pin alternative holds bulky layers in place and is easy to remove when sewing. You can also use these clips to hold binding in place while sewing!

Here's a tutorial for our favorite method and tools for embroidery!
